Hope's Last Day: Difference between revisions

Latest revision as of 20:49, 18 October 2026

Part of the Side Missions. Listen on Acast: Part I and Part II.

For the 2025 Halloween Special the boys delved into the world of Free Leagues Alien RPG. They were playing the new Evolved edition provided in advance of publication by Free League. An extra long two-parter. Based in the Alien and Aliens universe from the movies

Game mechanics (from Free League's Alien RPG, not the show's usual Call of Cthulhu rules): simple system of using several six sided dice. The more difficult the action the fewer dice the player roles making rolling a six more difficult. Panic and Stress dice can modify possible successes or failures.

The year is 2177 and a lot of the galaxy is colonised. Earth Governments have fractured and reformed in new ways and corporations like Wayland-Yutani now have massive power

Hadleys Hope is a terra forming plant on the planet LV42 where the crew of the Nostromo first encountered the xenomorphs. But Ellen Ripley has only just been picked up and no one one at Hadleys Hope is aware of the horror awaiting them.

Humans are about to find out they are not top of the food chain.

Characters:- Game Mother: Alex Morrison; Able Morrison as Drac Gosset Junior; Seth Morrison as Nigel Copperbottom the third; Peter Morrison as Davidge Quaid; Sam Morrison as Spill McGann (another McGann family member)

Able and Peters characters names are based in the film Enemy Mine from 1985. Donovans Character is based both on David Bowie and Jermain Clements from Flight of the Conchords!

There is a good deal of hilarity based around the Miranda Richards handout, and particularly hot dogs.
