This page explains what information Split LongWays (splitlongways.com) collects when you visit, and how advertising works on the site. Split LongWays is an unofficial fan wiki for The Arkham Files podcast. It is not affiliated with the show or its hosts.
Information we collect
- Server logs. Like most websites, our web host (DreamHost) automatically records basic technical information for each request: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting and rough traffic counts. They are not sold.
- Accounts and edits. If you create an account, the wiki stores your username, password (hashed), and an email address if you give one. Your edits and the time you made them are public in page histories. If you edit without logging in, your IP address is shown publicly in the page history instead of a username.
- Cookies used by the wiki. MediaWiki sets cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. These are needed for the site to work.
Advertising
Split LongWays shows a single advertisement, provided by Google AdSense, to help cover hosting costs.
- Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads. They may base ads on your visits to this site and to other sites on the internet.
- You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising.
- To learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Split LongWays does not receive any personal information about you from the ad. We only see totals such as the number of ad views and clicks.
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from Google will ask whether you agree to the use of cookies and personal data for advertising. You can accept, decline, or choose your options. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy and cookie settings link that appears on the site.
Children
Split LongWays is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Links to other sites
The wiki links to other websites, such as podcast hosts. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated from time to time; the page history shows every change. If you have a question about this policy, leave a message on the talk page.
