A veteran who served in the Great War with Major Bakersfield.
Grant Jameson is an old army friend of Major Bakersfield. The two served in the military together before the Great War and then in the war itself. He owns a small cabin on the outskirts of New Salem, Massachusetts, and the Keeper describes him as a bit of a loner who is something of a shut-in these days.
In 301: No Rest for the Wicked the investigators stop at his cabin for the night on their way to New Salem. Around noon the next day he wakes Tallahassee Turner from a bad dream. When Tallahassee says he only sweats because he is manly, Jameson says he gets the same night sweats from the Great War. He says he could not have served under Major Aloysius Bakersfield without learning to always keep extra bullets and nets around, and he offers to help the group gear up. The investigators decide not to drag him into what is going on. He gives them directions south past the Leighton farm to New Salem and remarks that they all look terrible.
He tells them he only goes to New Salem for supplies and avoids it as much as he can. He calls it a bad place where people are not friendly and do not like outsiders. He recommends Ezra Denny, owner of the local tavern, warns them to avoid a local troublemaker named Ike Watson, and tells them to be careful at night because he thinks he has heard bears in the woods lately.
In 301: No Rest for the Wicked he was originally introduced as Brent Jameson; it's the same character, just a name that changed along the way.
