First appeared in: The Fall of New Jerusalem

Inventor of the Grand Slam.

Notable quotes:

In 301: No Rest for the Wicked Brent Jameson recommends him to the investigators as the owner of the tavern in New Salem and one of the few good folk in town.

In 302: The Huggening he welcomes Billy and Dom to his tavern, the best-kept building in New Salem, after they mention Brent Jameson. He calls it "this forsaken town," says the locals still treat him as new after ten years, and tells them where Mordecai Shep lives. He also mentions the haunted Warthrop ruins and an unusual number of strangers, including a young man seen at the ruins. He serves bootleg liquor, rents the group rooms, and asks whether they are with the other new arrivals before drawing them aside to speak privately.

In 303: The Grand Slam he warns Billy and Dom that Ike Watson is a psychopath and tells them to watch out for the newcomers in suits, Constable Zeke Dawkins and the Mayor. He says that he is from the city and that Brent Jameson is a good friend who tells him war stories. He invents an all-day breakfast he plans to call "the home run," adopts the Major's suggestion of "grand slam," and serves the first Grand Slam at Denny's on the house. That evening he identifies a well-dressed young stranger in the tavern as the kid seen at the Warthrop place.

In 304: Pet, Cemetery he gives the investigators a 7 a.m. wake-up call with a Grand Slam waiting for them, and he bustles around a tavern where the new breakfast is catching on. He clearly loves the work, even though he does not seem to like the town.

In 305: The Shining... Skin the investigators identify Mordecai Shep's body partly from the description Ezra gave them.
