Synopsis
The episode picks up where 311: Beefing the Defenses left off. Outside Denny's, Tallahassee is hiding the last of his traps when two squirrels in a nearby tree seem to explode. He writes it off as another hallucination and feels his mind slipping further. Then he smells smoke, sees fires all over town and realizes that the creatures have reached New Jerusalem.
Inside Denny's, everyone is checking their weapons except Robert Morgan, who is still drinking. Tallahassee notes that Billy, Ezra Denny and Major Bakersfield have not come back, and the group argues over whether to barricade the door or wait for Billy. Tallahassee has run his fuses to the gun holes in the first-floor windows. Percy agrees to keep watch from the roof as a sharpshooter and to caw when the creatures reach each trap. Dom takes the front door with the flamethrower and plans to barricade it only at the last moment. Robert Morgan shares his whiskey and some gloomy advice, then decides to shoot whatever Dom shoots. Dr. Simeon and Tallahassee take positions at the gun holes. Goodman Gray waits, unarmed and unusually calm, while Constable Zeke Dawkins spins his revolver's cylinder and sizes up Tallahassee.
In a flashback, Bakersfield explains that he cannot leave Jameson alone in his cabin and gives Dom a parting gift before he leaves. At the cabin, the woods have gone silent, and something is moving among the trees to the west. Grant Jameson lets him in. Jameson says that creatures seven to eight feet tall have been creeping closer to his cabin every night, and he agrees to follow the Major into battle one more time. Bakersfield rolls an extreme Spot Hidden, spots a tall, lanky adolescent creature behind a tree and spends 17 Luck to hit it with his Lee-Enfield. When the two men make a run for the car, two more creatures are waiting in the headlights. They retreat and barricade the door. Bakersfield fumbles a Persuade roll meant to calm Jameson. A creature smashes through a side window and claws at Jameson, who deflects it with his rifle. Bakersfield jams his shotgun through the slats and gets an extreme success that nearly tears the creature in half. The other two creatures drag the body into the woods, eating it as they go.
Billy says goodbye to Tallahassee before heading out. On the east side of town, near Mordecai Shep's shack, he and Ezra raid Ike Watson's rundown house after a poor Stealth roll. Inside they find blood everywhere and strange symbols on the walls. In the back bedroom, Ike stands over the bound Delilah Bevins and the boy Zachary with a knife, next to a body that has been cut open. He wears a ragged yellow "cloak" and has a yellow symbol painted on his chest. Billy passes the Sanity roll for seeing the symbol. Billy casts a command spell on Ike twice, first "Drop it" and later "Freeze," but Ike resists both times and rants about a voice that wants chaos, calling out "Carcosa." Levi of Ike Watson's Gang bursts out of the closet with a knife. Billy deflects the attack with an elbow and then a pistol-whip, while Ezra wounds Ike in the arm and then shoots Levi dead in the head. Billy cuffs and hog-ties Ike and covers his face. He and Ezra load Ike, Delilah and Zachary into the truck and drive back toward Denny's.
Funny Moments

- Robert Morgan keeps calling Dom "baby boy" and insists that he is "a visual learner" when it comes to shark-faced smoothies.
- Dom gives his record as "Dom Druncard 1, butt holes zero."
- Jameson's reaction to the creatures blocking the car: "Clever smoothies."
- Bakersfield fumbles his pep talk to Jameson with a 96 and immediately declares "every man for himself."
- Bakersfield on why this isn't hell: they are not getting "grundled by centaurs."
- Billy and Ezra's raid ends with Billy calling Ezra's shot "a grand slam."
