First appeared in: Mister Corbitt

A fired orderly of Central Hospital in Arkham and the villain's hands-on helper in Mister Corbitt. He turns out to be the "Miskatonic Mangler", a serial killer who dismembers his victims. He is also the man who kidnapped Dom Druncard, and he is the supplier of the body parts behind Bernard Corbitt's grisly experiments.

Background

Randolph worked at Central Hospital, where his job included disposing of amputated limbs and other surgical remains in the incinerator. He was later fired after being publicly linked to the disappearance of nearly a dozen neighborhood dogs and cats. Though never convicted, he was questioned by police and the hospital's superintendent remembers him as increasingly withdrawn, tense and paranoid. The investigators trace him through the license plate of the car Dom escaped from, in 104: Attic Window and 105: Radical Medicine.

Capture

In 106: The Miskatonic Mangler, Dom Druncard, Billy McConnell and Major Bakersfield find him in his shabby apartment on Crenshaw. Dom recognizes him at the door and Randolph flees down the fire escape, only to be ambushed by the Major from behind a dumpster and tangled in his net. Dom gets some personal revenge, and under questioning Randolph admits that Corbitt ordered Dom's kidnapping and that he is the Miskatonic Mangler. He says he kept supplying Corbitt with body parts for drugs, fell into Satanic devotion, and that Corbitt is building a gate for "the Master". His apartment held an occult altar, a copy of True Magic, ceremonial gear and a vial of neon-purple liquid, along with blood-stained jewelry that looks like trophies from his victims.

Aftermath

Billy hands him over to the police. In 107: Fates and Retribution he is reported to be incoherent in custody and ranting about the Master. In 109: For Whom the Dice Rolls Billy uses his name to trip up Corbitt, who pronounces it a little too correctly for a man who has never heard of him. By the epilogue, the "gate" Randolph spoke of has been closed. Around three months later, in 201: Wrong Place at the Wrong Time, the radio reports that he is still confessing and that police are piecing together the whole story from his rants.

In 407: Coffee & Cigarettes the stamped paper that Billy McConnell and Dr. Simeon find on a stack of employee forms in Dr. Doyle's office has his name on it, as the Keeper reads it out, and Billy describes it as the termination paperwork. The players also read out the name Anna Fairbanks from the bottom of the form, and the Keeper does not say how she relates to him.

In 409: Pass the Baby the Gazette reporter Ricky Dubois tells Dom that Anna Fairbanks is a married name and that her maiden name is Tomaszewski, and Dom answers that her brother is the Miskatonic Mangler. Ricky says that Anna told him her brother had connections that went all the way to the top and that she planned to bring photos and papers showing that they were related, but she never showed up to the meeting.

In 410: Just Watch the Fireworks Dom names him as the only person with a motive for the killings, saying that Dr. Doyle fired him and that the Major's wife was the wife of the man who netted him. Billy points out that he is in the asylum as far as he knows, the Major says he was Corbett's puppet, and the group speculates that he may somehow be pulling people into Soyland. Simeon suggests visiting him in Arkham.

In 412: My Enemy Tallahassee tries to get an interview with him at the Arkham Sanatorium, where John confirms he is locked up in maximum security. In the same visit Corbitt identifies him as the shadow man who has been haunting the investigators through the radio. Corbitt says Tomaszewski has visited him in the sanatorium and sees him as "a kind of mentor", and that after his mind broke when he was arrested, the drugs Corbitt gave him and his isolation in the hospital let him travel outside his body. Corbitt also says the boaters are his doing and that he may be forming his own cult.

In 417: Believe in What You Want the investigators learn his room is on the third floor of the maximum security wing, and Corbitt makes a medallion to seal his soul into his body. In 418: Here it Goes the Keeper's recap calls him "the Miskatonic Mangler and now the Ferryman". In 420: Clarity the investigators break into his padded room. He protests that the game isn't over, says under Billy's Command of the Wizard that Corbitt put him up to taking the Major's family, and is bound with the medallion before the Major kills him with his trench knife.
