Jake
Played by: Alex Morrison
First appeared in: Deadlight
A scruffy, red-faced, bearded man seen in the diner of the Orchard Run Gas and Cafe in 201: Wrong Place at the Wrong Time. Soaking wet and badly shaken, he tells the manager Dan Keelhan and an older couple that "the dead lad" ran him off the road and is out there after him, and refuses to go back out to move his truck, which is blocking the road. Dan tells everyone to ignore "old Jake". His surname is never given. In 202: The Good Doctor, he clashes with Simeon over his suspenders and his "soft science" and stays behind to watch the truck.
Notable quotes:
- "I ain't going back out there. It's out there. It's going to get me."
In 204: Night of the Living Dead Light he refuses to leave the cafe while the dead light is outside. When the Major accuses him of failing to guard the girls, he snaps back, and Billy picks a fight with him before backing off. Simeon's psychology roll shows that he is lashing out because he is terrified.
In 205: Lights Out he is seen through the cafe window with a shocked look on his face while Tallahassee searches his truck, and the shotgun Tallahassee takes from it, Horace, is later used in the standoff with Mary.
